“Large Juniper Workshop”

Fight the winter blues, bring your tools and join us for our 4th annual winter bonsai workshop. We have chosen several
large old junipers (Juniper Procumbens-nana) that have been pruned back over the years that will make perfect specimens
for the bonsai hobbyist. With well defined trunk lines, these trees will test participants’ ability in executing the
best course of action in tree design. Certainly help is never far away if you need it. Plan on a fun day of pruning,
cutting, creating jins and sharis, wiring, and potting. A contest for best tree will be held at end of program for
best tree and a prize awarded.
Some prior bonsai experience recommended for this workshop. Not recommended for new bonsai students.
Cost $175.00 (plus tax) includes plant material, pot, soil and use of tools.
You must register before attending classes and all classes are limited due to seating, space and plant material on hand.
“Making a Bonsai”

Time: 9:30 – 2:00
Get hands on experience in making your own bonsai from start to finish that when complete you can take home. Here is a class
designed for the beginner or amateur wishing to stay active in bonsai.
Subject plant material we have chosen to use is called “Juniper Procumbens-nana.” or Japanese Juniper. Japanese Junipers are
great for learning bonsai. A very resilient plant it offers miniature dark green needles, multiple branches and can be easily
trained in a number of bonsai styles. Receive expert advice and guidance within a group setting as you learn what’s involved
in making bonsai.
Whether you are new to bonsai or simply looking for reinforcement of your current skills, this is a chance to help build your
confidence.
Cost $ 90.00 (plus tax) includes all materials and use of tools.

“Bring your own trees”
March 6, 2010 or March 20, 2010
Time: 9:30 – 1:00
A repotting and styling workshop it allows participants’ to bring-in and work on their own trees or bonsai potentials in need of
attention before spring. Weather in need of help or routine maintenance and repotting, its important bonsai receive proper care
to maintain good health and vigor. Get expert advice in repotting, pruning, wiring and shaping your bonsai inside a small group
setting.
Cost-$55.00 (plus tax) includes one gallon of soil, wire and use of tools.
You must register before attending classes all classes are limited due to seating.
